Doug Palin founded Pacifier Online in 1987 and sold its assets to US Net of St. Louis in 2000. Palin regained control of Pacifier Online in 2002 when a group of prominent Northwest investors, headed by Palin, acquired several Internet Service Providers from US Net. This acquisition created one of the largest privately-held Internet Service Providers on the West Coast. Infinity Internet is headquartered in Vancouver, Washington and maintains significant operations in Seattle, Portland and Los Angeles. Also, Infinity Internet owns and operates a tier 2 data center in Portland, Oregon.
